Investigator - AML position in Lexington, SC. This is a contract

Location: Lexington, SC 29072
Hours available: 8a-4:30p M-F but must be flexible to be able to
work between the hours of 7AM-7PM.
Summary: The main function of an Investigator - AML is to perform
confidential research and investigations. The position recognizes
and evaluates high risk accounts & activity
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains department files, utilizes a variety of analytical
techniques & computer systems.
The incumbent works independently with minimal supervision, inside
a team environment, plans and prioritizes daily workload
Objectives and effectively communicates with branch staff to obtain
information needed for supporting documentation and reports
Identifies or eliminates accounts for further investigation.
Collects data and documentation from various agencies, both inside
and outside Bank.
Maintain existing files, while developing new case files with
supporting documentation.
Enters data obtained onto various software systems.
Copes effectively with risk and uncertainty.
Devotes appropriate attention to training and developing newly
assigned team members.
Develops and presents case files, both verbally and through written
analysis to senior staff.
Supports management team, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly
reports are completed on time.
Adheres to all security policies and procedures.
Prepare concise and meaningful reports.
Skills:
Must have understanding of BSA/AML laws or Office of Controller of
Currency (OCC)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to make sound judgments with confidence.
Proficient in Commerce Bank systems, (D-3000, COLD, Image Depot,
Lotus Notes, Access, & All Microsoft office products) or ability to
show proficiency with operating systems for data retrieval and
research.
Experienced with navigating the Internet.
Displays flexibility in adapting to change.
Applies sound analytical thinking. Makes effective use of team
resources.
Must have excellent time management
Responds quickly to new instructions, situations, methods, and
procedures.
Eager to accept challenging assignments.
Capably handles stressful situations.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree in accounting or related financial discipline
preferred.
At least one year branch experience or equivalent
6 months-2 years financial and/or accounting experience
required
