QualificationsThe Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high
quality, patient-centered care by the nature and specific
requirements of the department. The care is consistent with the
scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and
specialty. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides
individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. We use
established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and
Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for
patients/families/caregivers. Our nurses model a commitment to the
organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled
patient experience. Our clinical outcomes contribute to the overall
departmental performance.What will you do in this role:
- Assesses patient condition during admission and during each
shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any
changes in patient status.
- Performs the administration of prescribed medications. Monitors
patient for therapeutic response. Notifies provider and intervenes
as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to
medication.
- Conducts complete patient evaluation before procedure,
including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well
as physical and psychological assessments. Ensures
patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the
peri-operative process. Obtains and witnesses consent form.
- Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the
patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication
fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active
listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a
clear understanding of all communications, and escalates care
concerns appropriately.What qualifications you may need:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing:
Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you
practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red
Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is
required
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red
Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is
preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of
hire/transfer date
- Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience preferred
